Jacqueline Du Pré: Cello Concerto in E Minor, Op. 85 - Movement 4,
Jacqueline Du Pré (1945 - 1987) performs the Elgar Cello Concerto in E minor, Op. 85; Sir John Barbirolli conducts the London Symphony Orchestra in this 1965 recording, issued on the Angel label (Angel 36638). (Angel Records is a record label belonging to EMI. It was formed in 1953 and specialised in classical music, but included an occasional operetta or Broadway score. The Angel trademark has been used by EMI, its predecessors, and affiliated companies since 1898.) Movement 4, Part 2: Allegro — Moderato — Allegro, ma non troppo — Poco più lento — Adagio Many critics consider du Pré's recording to be the definitive recording of the Elgar concerto. Du Pré's recording has been continually praised for its astonishing passion as well as a remarkably secure technique. Barbirolli himself had an association with the concerto from its very earliest days: he was a member of the cello section of the orchestra at its 1919 premiere; and he was the soloist at only its second public performance, with the Bournemouth Municipal Orchestra under Sir Dan Godfrey.

Pomp and Circumstance March - No 4 - Sir Edward Elgar - Electronic O
Pomp and Circumstance March - No 4 - Opus 39 -Composed Sir Edward Elgar during June 1907 and first performed in London on 24th August 1907. The march is used to great effect as part of the classically motivated soundtrack to "A Clockwork Orange" that was orchestrated by the brilliant composer & arranger - Wendy Carlos. The march is performed in this recording by transgendered musician Denise Hewitt on a Technics PR903 Digital Keyboard using a combination of synthesised church pipe organs modes. The photo in the opening titles and closing credits was shot by Denise in Le Massif de la Vanoise (French Alps)and is of the North Face of La Grande Casse - 3855metres - which is the highest peak in the National Park. In "A Clockwork Orange", Elgar's Pomp and Circumstance March - No4 - is used when Alex is transferred from Parkmoor Prison to the care of Dr Brodsky at the Ludovico Medical Facility. The music plays for 2.5mins throughout the scene at the Ludovico Centre Reception Desk from 01:07:28 to 01:09:55 when the march fades out and the scene moves to Alex's Day Room where Dr Brodsky's Assistant, Dr Branom enters with a nurse to initiate the course of medical treatment... Salut d'Amour --- Masaaki Kishibe--- EDWARD ELGAR
When I was playing over the tabs of this beautifull tune, my wife asked me :"So when will I have my dedicated video!?" Don't ask me twice: here it is, Love! The tune reminds me of Ravel, Debussy...on guitar. Its wonderfully taught of. I still am in my Masaaki discovery period. Alas, I am working HARD to get some own material. Altough it might take another few months. But I am working on it. In the mean time: enjoy these ones as much as I enjoy playing them. Tomorrow I leave on a trip to Bahrein, and I should be packing rather than uplaoding another video. I'm back next Saterday.... Catch you than!¿?! Have a great week.
