Pavane by Gabriel Faure - Classical guitar duet Pavane is music composed for dancing the pavane and usually performed in a stately court dance of the 16th and 17th centuries. Fauré Piano Quartet No.1 in C minor, Op. 15 (mvt. 1)
Fauré Piano Quartet No.1 in C minor, Op. 15 (mvt. 1) Artists making beautiful music together in honor of Fauré's 150th Birthday. New York Times critic Kenneth Furie has this to say about the performance: "The high point came after intermission, when the First Piano Quartet (Op. 15) was played by the violinist Curtis Macomber, of Speculum Musicae; the violist Maureen Gallagher, of Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and Speculum; Jerry Grossman, principal cellist of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, and Ms. [Evelyne] Crochet. The players had mastered the rhythmic quirks of the quartet's melodic material, and the massed string sound was irresistibly vibrant."
