ANTONIO VIVALDI ~SUMMER~ (full) Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741) is known for his inspirational songs called "The Four Seasons". "Spring" ("La primavera"), "Summer" ("L'estate"), "Autumn" ("L'autunno") and "Winter" ("L'inverno") are some of the his most popular creations and they were written to go along with four sonnets called, of course, Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. Summer Sonnet: "Under a hard Season, fired up by the Sun Languishes man, languishes the flock and burns the pine We hear the cuckoo's voice; then sweet songs of the turtledove and finch are heard. Soft breezes stir the air... but threatening north wind sweeps them suddenly aside. The shepherd trembles, fearing violent storms and his fate. The fear of lightning and fierce thunder Robs his tired limbs of rest As gnats and flies buzz furiously around. Alas, his fears were justified The Heavens thunders and roar and majestically Cuts the head off the wheat and damages the grain." ***Notes*** I don't know which orchestra performed it, because I don't have this version anymore. I'm sorry.
Wynton Marsalis - Vivaldi Trumpet Concerto for 2 Trumpets
Wynton Marsalis - Vivaldi Trumpet Concerto for 2 Trumpets As controversial as he is popular, Wynton Learson Marsalis is one of the most prominent jazz musicians of the modern era and is also a well-known instrumentalist in classical music. Currently the Musical Director of Jazz at Lincoln Center Wynton Marsalis has received many awards for his musical proficiency. These awards run the gambit of Grammys to a controversial awarding of the Pulitzer Prize for Music for his three and half hour jazz oratorio CD box set Blood on the Fields, the first jazz album to win this award. Born in a musically oriented family in the New Orleans jazz scene at a young age Wynton was exposed to many legendary jazz musicians. Some of these musicians were Al Hirt, who gave Wynton his first trumpet when he was 6 years of age and Danny Barker, a legendary jazz banjoist who lead the Fairview Baptist Church band which Wynton was playing in when he was eight. Wynton was very active musically during high school and was a member in many New Orleans musical organizations such as the NO symphony brass quintet, the NO community concert band, NO youth orchestra, NO symphony and a popular local funk band called the Creators. In 1978 he had a two-year stay at the Juilliard School of Music before joining the Jazz Messengers to study under master drummer and bandleader, Art Blakey. Not long after that he toured with the Herbie Hancock quartet before forming his own band. After many concerts and workshops Wynton rekindled widespread interest in an art form that had ...

Vivaldi - Opus 3 no 3 in G Major - L'estro Armonico Antonio Vivaldi: L'Estro Armonico, Opus 3 - Concerto #03 in G Major for solo violin, strings and basso continuo, RV 310 1 - Allegro 2 - Largo 3 - Allegro For high quality: Performed by The Academy of Ancient Music Direction: Christopher Hogwood L'estro Armonico (opus 3) is a collection of twelve concertos for 1, 2 and 4 violins written by Antonio Vivaldi in 1711. It largely augmented the reputation of Vivaldi as Il Prete Rosso; (The Red Priest). The collections were mostly put together in a chronological order. These concerti are often called concerti grossi due to their use of a concertino-style ensemble (solo cello is often used). JS Bach later transcribed concertos from this work for harpsichord solo (no.9, no.12), for organ solo (no.8, no.11) and for four harpsichords and strings (no.10
