A Clockwork Orange - Extended Theme & Title Music
A Clockwork Orange - Extended Theme & Title Music Originally written more than 315 years ago by the great English composer Henry Purcell (1659 - 1695) for the Funeral March of Queen Mary II (Died 28th December 1694) - This 17th Century Classic Processional Funeral March was originally scored for 4 trumpets, and then adapted for the Main Opening Title Theme Music of the 1971 film "A Clockwork Orange" which was directed by Stanley Kubrick. The electronic synthesized soundtrack was orchestrated by Wendy Carlos, together with Rachel Elkind, including adaptations of several other extremely well known classical music compositions including several parts of Beethoven's Chorale 9th Symphony. The full soundtrack also includes excerpts from the William Tell Overture, the Thieving Magpie, Land of Hope and Glory, and the well-known 1st and 4th Pomp and Circumstance Marches composed by Sir Edward Elgar. Wendy Carlos has been one of my musical inspirations and role models since my teenage years with her revolutionary & futuristic Moog Synthesizer adaptations that include "Switched-on-Bach" from way back in 1968, and of course the highly creative soundtrack for "A Clockwork Orange". And Congratulations to Wendy Carlos on her 70th Birthday on 14th November 2009! BVC - 1971 - 3 - All'uomo Che Racoglie E Cartoni 1
BVC - 1971 - 3 - All'uomo Che Racoglie E Cartoni 1 This Italian band's sole legacy is a wonderful instrumental album of pure symphonic prog dominated by flute, with strong classical influences and a touch of jazz. For comparisons, bands like COLOSSEUM, KING CRIMSON, GENESIS, ELP and The NICE come to mind. Their eponymous album was recorded in 1971 for the Venice-based Suono label but never saw the light of day; a year later, the group had already disbanded. They were eventually honoured by the Rome Villa Pamphili festival who awarded them the prize for 'Best Italian Band' in 1974. The album, which had been shelved for over twenty years, was finally unearthed by Melos in 1992; Italian label Akama also re-issued it in '99 with two extra tracks. The Melos release comprises three wonderful suites of excellent performance featuring great keyboards, flute and sax plus a few rare vocals, the music alternating between quiet, folksy parts and grand symphonic flights. In 1972, an album by Beppe Palomba entitled "A Rosa, a Giovanna e alle altre" was issued under the Mizar label, featuring some of the members from BUON VECCHIO CHARLIE. Its two best cuts are the ones included in the 1999 Akama re-issue of BVC. Although the production isn't perfect, "Buon Vecchio Charlie" is one of the better, very early (pre-BANCO/PFM) Italian prog albums and is certainly recommended for all lovers of vintage Italian symphonic prog. : : : Lise (HIBOU), CANADA : : :

Zdenko Fibich Poem Performed by Ray Cruz on Clavinova
Zdenko Fibich Poem Performed by Ray Cruz on Clavinova Now download MP3 here: www.ergonica.net . Ray Cruz interprets 'Poem' from the romantic era by Zdenko Fibich in a romantic piano style. The Clavinova is also a vintage classic - the CVP-30 ... still performs marvelously over nearly 20 years (only needed a little WD-40 when one key got stuck)! For piano buffs, this edition of Poem was published by G. Schirmer, Inc., copyright 1920, transcribed by Erno Rapée. Judging from what is played on YouTube and other media, this edition is much more robust and satisfying for the pianist (and listener) than what is usually performed. I must confess: I did repeat the main section which repitition was not in the book. Mea culpa! I'm curious, does anyone else play this version of Poem by Fibich? Be sure to visit my channel for more interesting stuff.
