We took our cameras with us and a new tune that we created just for the occasion. Thanks to a number of subscribers for the suggestion to remake this epic classical piece by Carl Orff! It was one of three possibilities we were considering when writing with the race track in mind. In the end it was no contest; especially when we read the English transition of the Latin lyrics in the piece -- which speak of fate like a "wheel" and a "driving force!" Our version of O Fortuna was so much fun to create that it was done in a matter of three days (we couldn't let ourselves do anything else until it was finished). It consists of 6 piano tracks, 43 acoustic cello tracks, 3 percussion tracks, and 48 vocal tracks. A special thanks to Orin Harker (He owns the white car) , along with his wife Val, who hosted us, gave us all the ride of our lives, and taught us about the coolness of Radical Racing! A Clockwork Orange - Extended Theme & Title Music
Originally written more than 315 years ago by the great English composer Henry Purcell (1659 - 1695) for the Funeral March of Queen Mary II (Died 28th December 1694) - This 17th Century Classic Processional Funeral March was originally scored for 4 trumpets, and then adapted for the Main Opening Title Theme Music of the 1971 film "A Clockwork Orange" which was directed by Stanley Kubrick. The electronic synthesized soundtrack was orchestrated by Wendy Carlos, together with Rachel Elkind, including adaptations of several other extremely well known classical music compositions including several parts of Beethoven's Chorale 9th Symphony. The full soundtrack also includes excerpts from the William Tell Overture, the Thieving Magpie, Land of Hope and Glory, and the well-known 1st and 4th Pomp and Circumstance Marches composed by Sir Edward Elgar. Wendy Carlos has been one of my musical inspirations and role models since my teenage years with her revolutionary & futuristic Moog Synthesizer adaptations that include "Switched-on-Bach" from way back in 1968, and of course the highly creative soundtrack for "A Clockwork Orange". The electronic synthesized soundtrack was orchestrated by Wendy Carlos, together with Rachel Elkind, including adaptations of several other extremely well known classical music compositions including several parts of Beethoven's Chorale 9th Symphony. The full soundtrack also includes excerpts from the William Tell Overture, the Thieving Magpie, Land of Hope and Glory, and the well-known 1st and 4th Pomp and Circumstance Marches composed by Sir Edward Elgar. Wendy Carlos has been one of my musical inspirations and role models since my teenage years with her revolutionary & futuristic Moog Synthesizer adaptations that include "Switched-on-Bach" from way back in 1968, and of course the highly creative soundtrack for "A Clockwork Orange". One of my first classical remixes i heard! Since then i love great classical music like Bach,Beethoven etc. Found this cd finally, it was hidden in my fathers huge CD collection! American Harp Society - Timmy Kosaka
Timmy Kosaka plays Variations on Sakura on the Harp at a recent recital for the American Harp Society Greater Seattle Chapter. Timmy started to play the harp and piano when he was five. He was taught by his mother, Kate Kosaka. He is now 11 and has performed at more than 30 places in Washington, Vancouver BC and Bangkok, Thailand. He performed his first one hour concert when he was eight at a church in Tacoma in 2006. That same year, he was also the guest soloist at Mr. Bronn Journey's Christmas Harp Concert. Timmy was awarded the KidsDay Salute Award by the City of Auburn in 2004 for his contribution to the society with his harp music. In 2007, he was awarded by the American Who's Who Association for his Academic Excellence. That year, Timmy was also filmed by 3ABN, a Christian television network, in a TV series called "Grandma's House" as a guest harpist playing four selections for a tea party. In February, Timmy was the guest pianist and harpist at pianist Jee Wong's Benefiting Concert, which helped raise money for a mission trip to Africa. Even though Timmy enjoys playing different type of music, his goal is to use music as a ministry and to share his love of music and bring joy to other people's life. This clip is part of a full episode that aired on SCAN TV in Seattle (Comcast channel 77 or Broadstripe [formerly Millennium] channel 23) on Thursday, June 19, 2008 at 6:30 pm PST.

THE HENRI CASADESUS SOCIETY OF ANCIENT INSTRUMENTS play "Minuet of the Land of Love" on Columbia #50262-D, recorded in the late '20s. Marius, Lucette, & Régine Casadesus, and M. Devilliers. FROM WIKIPEDIA: Casadesus received his early musical instruction with Albert Lavignac and studied viola with Théophile Laforge at the Conservatoire de Paris, taking first prize in 1899. From 1910 to 1917, he was the violist of the Capet Quartet. Along with Camille Saint-Saëns, Casadesus founded the Society of Ancient Instruments in 1901. The society, which operated between 1901 and 1939, was a quintet of performers who used obsolete instruments such as the viola da gamba, or Casadesus's own instrument, the viola d'amore. The quintet was also notable in its day for premiering rediscovered works by long-dead composers. It was later discovered that Casadesus and his brothers, notably Marius Casadesus, wrote these works. The Adélaïde Concerto, allegedly by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, is sometimes mistakenly attributed to Henri but is actually by Marius. Just thought I'd upload this because it's a pretty hard-to-find recording. Enjoy!
