Jean Sibelius: Andante festivo Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Mariss Jansons The 'Andante festivo' was written for string quartet in 1922 shortly before the Sixth Symphony. The composer later expanded it for string orchestra with 'ad lib' timpani, and on 1 January 1939 he conducted a performance in Helsinki for short-wave radio transmission to the World Exhibition in New York. This performance was preserved on wax as a poignant historical memento. It was the last time Sibelius conducted, and is the only known recorded exemple of his conducting. The noble, seamless melody is as close as he came to a religious statement. There are, in addition, intriguing suggestions of Dvorak's Symphony 'From the New World' (or is it 'God Save the Queen'?) and Sibelius' own later Seventh Symphony, and an unmistakeable final 'Amen' cadence. Sibelius Intermezzo Karelia Suite - Isao Tomita style

Classitronic is what I call electronic classical music with my style being heavily influenced by Isao Tomita This was an interesting piece because I remember it as the theme music to a TV documentary/current affairs series from the late 60's or early 70's, called This Week, I just loved the main sequence when it kicks in, so to give a kick I used a rather hard edged dance string sound and arpeggiated the strings to give a Tangerine Dream style sequence sound. The music was created using Malström, Thor, Minimoog V2, Jupiter 8V, Battery 3 and Omnisphere soft synths and arranged and mixed in Cubase 4. *The Water Music is a collection of orchestral movements, often considered as three suites, composed by George Frideric Handel. It premiered in the summer of 1717 (July 17, 1717) when King George I requested a concert on the River Thames. The concert was performed by 50 musicians playing on a barge close to the royal barge from which the King listened with some close friends (including the Duchess of of Bolton, the Duchess of Newcastle, the Countess of Godolphin, Madam Kilmarnock, and the Earl of Orkney). George I was said to have loved it so much that he ordered the exhausted musicians to play the suites three times on the trip.
The music in each of the suites has no set order today. When the suite was played for the King, slow, often soft music was played when the King's boat and the orchestra's boat were close together, while louder, brisk passages were played when the boats drifted apart.
This performance follows Samuel Arnold's first edition of the complete score in 1788 and the manuscript copies dating from Handel's lifetime. Therefore, the Suite in D and the Suite in G are mixed together.

That means Johann Sebastian Bach was all of 8 years old when Goffriller slapped on the final layer of shellac.
