History on Mozart: Musical genius Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born to Leopold Mozart and his wife Anna Maria Pertl in Salzburg, Austria on January 27, 1756. Leopold Mozart was a successful composer and violinist and served as assistant concertmaster at the Salzburg court. Mozart and his older sister Maria Anna "Nannerl" were the couple's only surviving children, and their musical education began at a very young age. The archbishop of the Salzburg court, Sigismund von Schrattenbach was very supportive of the Mozart children's remarkable activities. By the time Mozart was five years old, he began composing minuets. The next year, he and his sister were taken to Munich and Vienna to play a series of concert tours. Both children played the harpsichord, but Mozart had also mastered the violin. In 1763, when Mozart was seven years old, his father took leave of his position at the Salzburg court to take the family on an extended concert tour of western Europe. Mozart and his sister performed in the major musical centers, including Stuttgart, Mannheim, Mainz, Frankfurt, Brussels, Paris, London, and Amsterdam. Gustav Mahler - Adagietto (from Symphony N°5)
Gustav Mahler's Adagietto from the Fifth Symphony. The audio recording here is specialy edited for the YouTube channel in order to maintain its completeness. There are no cut parts, this is the whole Adagietto, for your enjoyment. ---------------------------------- A note from the author(s): Dear, friends, I thank you for your nice comments and I am glad that you are enjoying these beautiful musical master pieces. I noticed that, from time to time, people will ask why is the image of Jean-Marc Barr on some of the clips. Well, it is a long story. Me (Mare79, a "name" from the image) and "Mayol" (a friend of mine) have made these several classical music videos during the time we were on one forum once. The picture of Jean-Marc Bar was the image of his avatar, and since all these videos were generally his idea, we decided to place a full photo of Jean-Marc in them. Jean-Marc had a role in one of his movies where he played a character named Mayol, so... It was just an idea at that time, but it still remained after all, since we didn't want to remove the video in order to upload a new one without this photo and make this clip an invalid entry in your favourites playlists. So, the smaller image represents the photo of the composer. Enjoy the music, and have a nice day. Best regards to all.

He is at once a pianist endowed with the rare gift of musical story-telling, a charmer with a rare understanding of the beauty and power of harmony, and a performer full of savoir-faire, genuine temperament and true love for his instrument" Michel Block Pianist, recording artist EMI, ProPiano Records "Let me say at once that I find your playing extremely accomplished and sensitive ... superb playing... It was one of three possibilities we were considering when writing with the race track in mind. In the end it was no contest; especially when we read the English transition of the Latin lyrics in the piece -- which speak of fate like a "wheel" and a "driving force!" Our version of O Fortuna was so much fun to create that it was done in a matter of three days (we couldn't let ourselves do anything else until it was finished). It consists of 6 piano tracks, 43 acoustic cello tracks, 3 percussion tracks, and 48 vocal tracks. Classical/guitar, Jim Greeninger, Recuerdos de la Alhambra
www.jimgreeninger.com - Guitar/classical, Recuerdos de la Alhambra, by Francisco Tarrega. Jim studied for several years with Maestro Andres Segovia. The guitar Jim is playing was built by himself and was recorded directly from the Baggs pickup via wireless transmitter and a live performance mic in the hall. This is because of the number of children and noise in the theater. It seemed to be the best way to accomplish a good recording, however, it does often sound like you are directly next to the guitar. Also hear this great piece by Pepe Romaro, Christopher Parkening, John Williams, and Julian Bream.

Mozart-Symphony No. 41 "Jupiter"/Leibowitz/Pt. 1 (of 3)
Rare. Rene Leibowitz conducts The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra (1962) Rene Leibowitz (1913-1972) was born in Warsaw but moved to Paris in his teens and there began a long, illustrious conducting career. Particularly interested in contemporary music, he studied with Webern and Schoenberg and wrote a detailed analysis of twelve-tone music. A keen ear for instrumental coloration (Ravel was his orchestration teacher) was evident in his kaleidoscopic transcriptions of such works as Bach's Passacaglia and Fugue in C (for double orchestra!). But he is best known for his often highly personal renditions of many staples of the Classical and Romantic repertoire. Here's Part 2 www.youtube.com

E strano! E strano!...Ah, fors'è lui che l'anima...Follie! Follie!...Sempre libera
Orchestra sinfonica di Torino della RAI
Conducted by Gabriele Santini
1953
VIOLETTA (sola)
È strano! È strano! In core
scolpiti ho quegli accenti!
Saria per me sventura un serio amore?
Che risolvi, o turbata anima mia?
Null'uomo ancora t'accendeva -- O gioia
ch'io non conobbi, esser amata amando!
E sdegnarla poss'io
per l'aride follie del viver mio?
Ah, fors'è lui che l'anima
solinga ne' tumulti
godea sovente pingere
de' suoi colori occulti!
Lui che modesto e vigile
all'egre soglie ascese,
e nuova febbre accese,
destandomi all'amor.
A quell'amor ch'è palpito
dell'universo intero,
misterioso, altero,
croce e delizia al cor!
Follie! follie! Delirio vano è questo!
Povera donna, sola,
abbandonata in questo
popoloso deserto
che appellano Parigi.
Che spero or più?
Che far degg'io? Gioire,
di voluttà ne' vortici perir.
Gioir, gioir!
Sempre libera degg'io
folleggiare di gioia in gioia,
vo' che scorra il viver mio
pei sentieri del piacer.
Nasca il giorno, o il giorno muoia,
sempre lieta ne' ritrovi,

Amore, amor è palpito...
VIOLETTA
Oh!
ALFREDO
...dell'universo intero --
VIOLETTA
Oh amore.
ALFREDO
Misterioso, misterioso, altero,
croce, croce e delizia,
croce e delizia, delizia al cor.
VIOLETTA
Follie! follie! Ah sì! Gioir, gioir!
Sempre libera degg'io
folleggiare di gioia in gioia,
vo' che scorra il viver mio
pei sentieri del piacer.
Nasca il giorno, o il giorno muoia,
sempre lieta ne' ritrovi,
a diletti sempre nuovi,
dee volare il mio pensier.

VIOLETTA (sola)
È strano! È strano! In core
scolpiti ho quegli accenti!
Saria per me sventura un serio amore?
Che risolvi, o turbata anima mia?
Null'uomo ancora t'accendeva -- O gioia
ch'io non conobbi, esser amata amando!
E sdegnarla poss'io
per l'aride follie del viver mio?
Ah, fors'è lui che l'anima
solinga ne' tumulti
godea sovente pingere
de' suoi colori occulti!
Lui che modesto e vigile
all'egre soglie ascese,
e nuova febbre accese,
destandomi all'amor.
A quell'amor ch'è palpito
dell'universo intero,
misterioso, altero,
croce e delizia al cor!
Follie! follie! Delirio vano è questo!
Povera donna, sola,
abbandonata in questo
popoloso deserto
che appellano Parigi.
Che spero or più?
Che far degg'io? Gioire,
di voluttà ne' vortici perir.
Gioir, gioir!
Sempre libera degg'io
folleggiare di gioia in gioia,
vo' che scorra il viver mio
pei sentieri del piacer.
Nasca il giorno, o il giorno muoia,
sempre lieta ne' ritrovi,
a diletti sempre nuovi
dee volare il mio pensier.

The "king" Luciano Pavarotti as Il Duca di Mantova in the screen movie "Rigoletto" (1983) based on Giuseppe Verdi's opera with the same name (1851).
La Donna è Mobile - Giuseppe Verdi
La donna è mobile
Qual piuma al vento
Muta d'accento
E di pensiero
Sempre un'amabile
Leggiadro viso
In pianto o in riso
È menzognero
La donna è mobil
Qual piuma al vento
Muta d'accento
E di pensier
E di pensier
E di pensier
è sempre misero
Chi a lei s'affida
Chi le confida
Mal cauto il core
Pur mai non sentesi
Felice appieno
Chi su quel seno
Non liba amore
La donna è mobil
Qual piuma al vento
Muta d'accento
E di pensier
E di pensier

Saverio Mercadante - Il Bravo, ossia La veneziana (1839) - Duet/Scen
Mercadante composed "Il bravo" between 1838 and 1839, not without difficulty, as he had problems with finding a reliable librettist, going through Bindocci, soon replaced with Gaetano Rossi and later on with Marcelliano who, on the composer's demand, was supervised by Felice Romani. The work was written for Domenico Donzelli (nearing the end of an illustrious career) and premiered with an excellent cast (headed by Schoberlechner, the first Elaisa). The success of the opening night at la Scala on the 9th of March, 1839, was complete. No. 4. Duet for Pisani and Carlo. The present piece is one of the most unstraightforward of the whole opera, developing in a style of an intense dialogue between the two characters, interspersed with passionate ariosos and only two actual concentrated passages. The scene opens with a narrative verse for Pisani who recounts to a skeptical Carlo the story of his love for Violetta. Carlo, in a perfect dramatic touch, does not answer the young man in the same melody. Instead, a hurried discussion breaks between the two men, as Carlo finally realizes that Pisani is searching for Il Bravo, in hope of attaining his help in saving Violetta, a desire that Carlo tries to denounce but an affecting appeal by Pisani, asking the older man if had ever lost someone ("a lover, a mother, a father"), leads to a sudden break in the musical flow, as Carlo is reminded of the reason for his tormented soul; however, he tries to hide his sorrow and turns to Pisani ...
