Vivace A chamber work for piano, two violins, viola, cello and double bass by Russian composer Mikhail Glinka (1804-1857), who is considered the father of Russian classical music. This piece is based on themes from the opera "La sonnambula" ("The Sleepwalker") by Italian composer Vincenzo Bellini (1801-1835). Glinka composed another piano sextet in the same year (1832) - the Grand Sextet in E flat major. On the EMI album "Martha Argerich and Friends Live from the Lugano Festival, 2009", this recording is incorrectly labeled as the Grand Sextet.
