The Hungarian Dances by Johannes Brahms are a set of lively dance tunes based on Hungarian themes. They were completed in 1869 and vary in length from about a minute to four minutes. The most famous one is No. 5 in F♯ minor, although it was actually based on a csárdás by Béla Kéler. Brahms wrote the dances for various instruments and ensembles, originally for piano four-hands and later arranged the first 10 dances for solo piano.
