Freddy Kempf, an English pianist born in 1977 in London to a German father and Japanese mother, is known for his performances and awards. He started playing the piano at four and gained recognition at eight when he performed Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 12 with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. In 1992, he won BBC Young Musician of the Year for his performance of Rachmaninoff’s Paganini Rhapsody. Despite not winning the International Tchaikovsky Competition in 1998, it helped boost his career.
