Freddy Kempf is a British pianist known for his impressive performances. Born in 1977 in London to a German father and a Japanese mother, he studied at the Royal Academy of Music before moving to Berlin. Kempf started playing the piano at the age of four and gained recognition at a young age. He won the National Mozart Competition in England in 1987 and was named BBC Young Musician of the Year in 1992. Despite not winning the International Tchaikovsky Competition in Moscow in 1998, this setback actually helped boost his career.
