Arcangelo Corelli (1653–1713) was an Italian Baroque composer and violinist who profoundly influenced classical music. Born in Fusignano, he studied in Bologna before establishing himself in Rome, where he enjoyed the patronage of aristocrats like Cardinal Ottoboni. Corelli was a virtuoso violinist and a pioneer of the concerto grosso and sonata forms.
