Handel’s 1711 opera “Rinaldo” (HWV 7) was first performed on February 24, 1711, at the Queen’s Theatre in London’s Haymarket. The libretto, written by Giacomo Rossi based on a scenario by Aaron Hill, tells the story of Rinaldo and features a talented cast including Philippe Jaroussky as Rinaldo, Anett Fritsch as Almirena, Carlo Vistoli as Goffredo, Kangmin Justin Kim as Eustazio, Jose Antonio Lopez as Argante, Arianna Vendittelli as Armida, Jean Miannay as Araldo, and Paul Figuier as Mago Cristiano.
