Domenico Gaetano Maria Donizetti was born on November 29, 1797 in Bergamo, Italy. He passed away on April 8, 1848 in Bergamo. Gilbert-Louis Duprez, who performed as Fernando in the first performance of La favorite, is known for inventing the ‘C from the chest’.
