The Second Queensland Youth Orchestra (QYO2), conducted by Sergei V Korschmin, performed the beautiful symphonic poem “Vyšehrad” from Bedřich Smetana’s “Ma Vlast” (My Fatherland) during a tour in Sydney. The concert took place at Verbrugghen Hall, Sydney Conservatorium of Music on June 27, 2010. QYO2 is a full symphony orchestra composed of talented musicians aged 13 to 23, based in Brisbane, Australia. HD footage with Dolby Stereo Sound is available for the entire concert. About the composer…

Smetana’s musical career was marked by his strong connection to his homeland.
