Mozart’s Concerto for Flute & Harp in C Major, also known as “Concertante alla harpa e flauto” KV299, was written in 1778 during his time in Paris. Commissioned by the Duke of Guînes and his daughter, who was taking composition lessons from Mozart, it is the only piece he composed that includes the harp. The combination of harp and flute was considered unusual at the time, as the harp was still being developed as an orchestral instrument.
