Tchaikovsky’s “None But The Lonely Hearts” is one of his best-loved vocal pieces. It comes from his collection of six songs, Op. 6, and was composed to a Russian translation of its original German text by Goethe. This poem, “Nur wer die Sehnsucht kennt,” inspired many Romantic lieder composers.
