Early Life
Born on August 10, 1865, in St. Petersburg, Glazunov showed early promise as a musician, receiving his initial music education from his musically inclined mother before entering the St. Petersburg Conservatory at the age of 14. There, he studied composition with Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov, under whose guidance he flourished as a composer and orchestral conductor.
