Benjamin Britten (1913–1976) was an English composer, conductor, and pianist, celebrated for revitalizing British classical music in the 20th century. Born in Suffolk, Britten displayed prodigious talent from a young age and studied at the Royal College of Music. His works often reflect pacifist and humanitarian ideals, influenced by his experiences during World War II. Britten’s operas are considered masterpieces, combining dramatic intensity with innovative musical language.
